SAUNSW Presents: Cardo's Bathurst GT-R Pilgrimage 2023
CALLING ALL GTR, SKYLINE, AND STAGEA OWNERS! CARDO's ANNUAL GTR PILGRIMAGE IS BACK!!!
Not only is SAUNSW heading to Cardo's Bathurst Cruise again, but we're also sponsoring it this year! We won't reveal all of our secrets for this event, but make sure you save the date and bring your Skyline, GT-R and Stagea out for a great day!
So, the important details..
Date: Sunday 27th August 2023
Meet Location: STASH, 18-20 Mile End Road, Rouse Hill
Meet Time: Meet at 7:30am for a 8:30am departure
Destination: Mount Panorama, Bathurst
Itinerary:
7.30am - Meet at STASH
To start the day off right, we'll be meeting at STASH for a Bacon & Egg Roll brekkie, which they've offered to host for us (Huge thank you to the STASH team - greatly appreciated!).
For those of you that are running corn juice (ie E85), there is a Freedom Fuels (ex-United) petrol station 10min up the road along Windsor Road. Anyone needing to fill up will have the chance to do so before we leave from STASH at 8.30am. We suggest you fill up your tank and jerry cans there before joining us at STASH.
8.15am - Cruise Briefing
As with all SAUNSW cruises, we'll hold our brief prior to departing from STASH. We'll hold this a touch earlier than usual so that it gives everyone enough time for everyone to finish brekkie, head to the bathroom, etc., before we make the 2.5hr trek to Mt Panorama!
8.30am - Departure
To make sure we maximise our time on the mount, we'll be leaving STASH at 8.30am SHARP!
The route is fairly simple and straight-forward - we'll head from STASH to Windsor Road, where we'll turn RIGHT to head north. We'll be turning LEFT onto Hawkesbury Valley Way (at the McDonald's/ KFC) and continue through to Richmond where we'll zig-zap onto Bells Line of Road (LEFT on to E Market Street then RIGHT onto March Street).
March Street eventually turns into Bells Line of Road, which is what we'll stay on unit we reach Lithgow. In Lithgow, we'll then turn RIGHT on to the Great Western Highway, which will take us all the way to Bathurst!
11.00am - Arrival at Mt Panorama
The drive from Rouse Hill to the glorious Mt Panorama will take approx. 2.5hrs, so once we get to the mighty mount, we'll need to have a stretch and a break... This year, we've booked out Pit Lane again so we'll pull into the exit of Pit Lane at the track and park up all of our cars so we can have a stretch, chat and get some photos.
Toilets are available at the National Motor Racing Museum at the entry/roundabout at the track for those needing to use them.
11.30am - Cruise the Mount
After a nice 30min break and chin-wag, we'll have a quick brief in the pits before we all cruise the track together as a massive convoy heading clockwise around the track (as usual)! We'll fit in as many laps as possible within 30min so we can give all of our photographers as many opportunities as possible to snap up some wicked shots of all of our cars!
12.00pm - 30min Break
After our first cruise session, we'll take another 30min break in the pits so we can stretch our legs once more, as well as give our photographers a chance to set up in new locations around the track..
12.30pm - 2nd Cruise around the Mount
After our second break, we'll head back out on to the track for another few laps / 30min session around the mount. We'll likely run around the track in the opposite direction to the first cruise session, but will decide on the day, pending our photographers.
1.00pm - Pit Stop
After our second session out on the track, we'll stop into the pits once again and will hang out here for at least another hour. This will give everyone the chance to take a few solo laps around the track they choose, as well as an opportunity for everyone to get one final break before a long trek home.
At this stage, the cruise will essentially be over, and everyone will be free to stay or head home as they choose. The SAUNSW team usually stays for a late lunch, which all are welcome to join!
This would be a great chance for anyone wanting to go to the National Motor Racing Museum to go and check out all of the motoring history they have on display!
2.00pm - Home or Late Lunch
For anyone wanting to stick around for a late lunch with the SAUNSW team, we'll be heading to The Oxford Bathurst (address: 170 William Street, Bathurst) for a decent feed before heading home.
There's no set time that we'll be heading home, so we'll be playing things by ear! We won't be making any bookings for lunch at this venue so for those wanting to join, it will be first come, first serve.
Now that you must be buzzing with excitement, definitely make sure you clear the calendar and join us for one of the best events in our yearly calendar!
Please be mindful that Mount Panorama usually has a police presence to ensure no silliness takes place. Please ensure you remain on your best behaviour and follow all road rules while at the Mount!
As always, we will have a lead and follow car so no one should get lost.
If you would like to attend or bring others along please put your name down and a +1 as numbers will be needed prior!
This is NOT a race and we will all be adhering to all road rules. Mount Panorama is made up of public roads, and will be treated as such for this event!
This is an official SAUNSW event and will be run under a Motorsports Australia permit.
One of the things that really sets our club apart is our commitment to being true enthusiasts. When on normal roads we strive to maintain good relations with the authorities as well as the public in general.

We'll start by meeting at the carpark at Brays Bay Reserve in Rhodes to group up and prepare ourselves for pizza goodness.
When we head out of Brays Bay Reserve, we'll be turning onto Concord Road and head north to Newport. We'll be on this road for the next hour until we get to Mona Vale, where we'll turn left onto Barrenjoey Road.
After turning onto Barrenjoey Road, it's a short drive up the road to reach Lucky & Peps for some amazing Pizza goodness!
Please note that we will be taking main roads so there will be a fair few traffic lights that we'll be passing through. There's no need to panic though - we'll be sticking to the speed limit, so there should be plenty of chances for us to group up again, especially after passing through St Ives.
Make sure to RSVP and let us know if you will be joining us on the night! +1's are always welcome!
This is NOT a race and we will all be adhering to all road rules. If this is what you want please come to one of our many track days.
This is an official SAUNSW event and will be run under a Motorsports Australia permit.
One of the things that really sets our club apart is our commitment to being true enthusiasts. When on normal roads we strive to maintain good relations with the authorities as well as the public in general.

SAU NSW - Social - Entertainment Park, Bankstown
***CRUISE CANCELLED - WE'RE HAVING A SOCIAL MEET INSTEAD***
Well gang... As you would have seen by now, we won't be going ahead with our planned cruise up Old Pac Hwy since Mother Nature isn't being fair to us with the weather...
But we aren't going to let the weather damper our spirits (pun intended)! Instead of a cruise, the SAUNSW team are still committed to holding an event, so, instead we'll be heading to the Bankstown's Entertainment Park for a night of go-karting, a bite to eat, maybe a few photos and plenty of the usual laughs!
So without any ado whatsoever, here are the details for you to save:
Date: Saturday 29th April 2023
Meet Location: Entertainment Park - 361 Milperra Rd, Bankstown NSW 2200
Meet Time: Meet at 7:30pm

Entertainment Park has a variety of activities for us to choose from at their venue! Just take your pick - they offer indoor go-karting, pool tables, 10-pin bowling and even a race simulator!
All you have to do is head to their website and book in for a time that suits you!
https://ecom.roller.app/entertainmentpark/booknow/en/products?date=2023-04-29
A simple plan, but what we'll do is meet at the same time we were planning on meeting for our cruise - at 7.30pm. From then, its a matter of picking a session for go-karting and having a race! Even if you don't want to race a go-kart, you can still come down to hang out, chat, and maybe get snapped in a photo or two (assuming the weather eases off long enough to snap some photos)...
If you would like to attend or bring others along please put your name down and a +1 as numbers will be needed prior!

In case you're wondering, Burragorang Lookout is located near Warragamba Dam, where you'll be able to see just how far Warragamba's catchment area is!
This is a fairly simple cruise, with few turns, which is also local - consider it a hidden treasure in Sydney's backyard!
So without any ado, here are the details:
Date: Sunday 26th March
Meet Location: Red Rooster, M4, Eastern Creek (West-bound)
Meet Time: Meet at 9:00am for a 9:30am departure
Destination: Burragorang Lookout, Burragorang Road, Nattai

We'll be meeting at the Red Rooster carpark at the west-bound Twin Servo's on the M4 (heading west-bound).
After our usual briefing, we'll be entering onto the M4, and will continue along until we reach the Mulgoa Road exit to Penrith. At this exit, we'll turn left onto Mulgoa Road, and follow it along.
After turning left onto Mulgoa Road, we'll very quickly come up to a roundabout, where we'll turn right to continue along Mulgoa Road.
We'll stay on Mulgoa Road until we arrive in Wallacia, where we'll turn right onto Silverdale Road.
Silverdale Road is another long stretch of road we'll be running on, until we get to another roandabout in The Oaks, where we'll turn right again on Mary Street, which later becomes Burragorang Road. We then follow this all the way until we reach the lookout.
After we walk around and stretch our legs for 30 min, we'll then head to Camden Valley Inn for a bite to eat and a drink, for all of you who would love to join us.
Camden Valley Inn is only a stone's throw away from Burragorang Lookout - all we do is follow Burragorang Road all the way back the way we came until we reach the Old Hume Hwy at a T-intersection. From there, we turn right onto the Old Hume, and follow it for a few short minutes until we reach Camden Valley Inn, which will be located on the right on Wire Lane.
As always, there will be a lead and follow car so no one should get lost.
We will be passing through some residential areas along our drive, so your best behaviour is most appreciated.
